Problem :

Small badminton clubs and friendly inter-club tournaments often rely on manual coordination, verbal scorekeeping, and ad-hoc tools. This leads to confusion around match order, lack of transparency in scoring, and disputes over results.

Existing digital tools are either too complex or not suited for quick, informal tournaments. Organizers need a fast, trustworthy system that works for players, judges, and spectators alike.

Solution :

I designed a lightweight, mobile friendly, access-controlled platform that enables organizers to quickly create tournaments, auto-generate match progressions, and manage live scorekeeping. AI assistance helped automate match positioning while allowing organizers to manually override when needed.

Judges could input scores transparently, and results were clearly visible to all stakeholders. The system balanced automation with human control to ensure fairness and clarity.

Challenge :

The biggest challenge was designing a complete, intuitive system in under 24 hours while learning the sport’s rules simultaneously. Another key challenge was avoiding over-automation in a trust-sensitive context like competitive scoring.

The interface had to be instantly understandable for first-time users, including non-technical judges and players.

The project delivers a fast, transparent tournament and scorekeeping platform designed for small, community-driven badminton events. By combining AI-assisted automation with clear human controls, the system simplifies match setup, scoring, and result announcements while maintaining trust and fairness.

This project demonstrates how AI can enhance speed, clarity, and coordination without over-automating decision-making, resulting in an accessible and reliable experience built under extreme time constraints.
